Just because you don’t understand doesn’t mean that the explanation doesn’t exist.
I recently learned that my son had read this book in middle school. I picked it up for a light read. It’s sometimes refreshing to sit in the shade with a children’s book and this one fit the bill. I really enjoyed the first two-thirds of the book. The characters were established very well and the story took an intriguing shape. Many philosophies of thought and religiosity are introduced throughout the events. Most of the items I underlined were spoken by one of the multi-dimensional characters who uses a thorough knowledge of earth’s literature to communicate. Though the end of the tale felt rushed and was not as well-formed as the story began, I did enjoy my time with the unique individuals on their time bending journey.
Here’s what I underlined along the way:
